Having a doctor who cares
I so appreciate meeting with my doctor each day while I'm here. Dr Xavier Curiel is my chief physician and his knowledge and insight are exceptional. Each day he reviews how I'm doing, presents results from tests I've taken and lets me know what my therapies are. Having him explain the reason for the therapies is like a gift, I get to have an understanding of exactly what I'm doing and why.
His medical training and specializations give him the ability to treat me in the best way possible. Plus, he puts me at ease, cares about me and my family and is genuinely kind. He never rushes me or makes me feel like I'm just a number on a list.
Because of who he is and how he is, I feel so safe. I know he is making the choices that will benefit me - and he is prioritizing my treatement based on the amount of time I have here and my budget. Now I ask you, when did you last have a doctor who was as conscious of your budget as you are?
(Actually, my doctor at home is like that, too! Isn't that wonderful?!)
For those of you that wanted me to have the best treatment possible - well I'm getting it. My health has improved so much just in my short stay here that I believe I've won the war.
Love you all! May your week be full of laughter and kindness and people who love you.

Good Digestion equals Good Health
In the last year, one of the important things I've learned is that about 70% of my immune system is centered in the digestive organs of my body. Wow! Somehow I thought it was some little gizmo inside that sent out the soldiers to say - "Attack! Attack!" every time a dangerous foreign body showed up.
Here at Sanoviv each of my doctors is aware of my digestion and they are directing my treatment so that it's more efficient and working the way it's supposed to work. The food I eat, enzymes, good bacteria (probiotics), exercise, water, posture, mental attitude, supplements - all have an impact on my digestive system. And since my immune system will work best when those things are properly balanced and being synergistic - it's a big deal for me to make the changes that are needed.
Fortunately, Alan and I had already increased the amount of vegetables we have in our diet. I found I wasn't very successful when I was focused on "oh - I have to stop eating that food" - so I changed the focus to "how many vegetables can I eat today." I would look for ways to add veggies, raw or steamed or sauteed, and do it throughout the day.
Now when I go home from Sanoviv, I'll be making a trip once a week to the city to find more organic foods (we currently wash things in a special spray to remove pesticides) - but organic is much better. And I'm learning how to order online - delivered straight to my door!
I'm so grateful for the change in my digestion since I've been here. The affect on my immune system has been marvelous. It's amazing how much better I feel.
Thank you for following my blog - and for your comments! I love hearing from you.

Keeping up!
Hello Everyone! It has been a very busy time. My schedule starts around 6:30am in the morning and sometimes finishes right after dinner. But some days I go til 9:00pm - so finding time for the internet can be crazy!
My Sunday was a day of rest - enjoying the sunshine, saying goodbye to wonderful new friends, a quick dip in the pools. Swimming in special salt water instead of chlorine is an experience to savor!
Monday was non-stop appointments. Many different therapies are included. Everything designed to move toxins out of my body, strengthen the good cells and chase the bad ones out. I'm so grateful for everything I'm receiving here.
I feel cherished, cared for - and I know that each discipline is tops in their field. How about having a team of experts on your side to give you a healthy body!
Tuesday was again a very full day - and included a special spa - Seaweed Wrap. It was refreshing and very wonderful. My IV's are going better - I'm not struggling with pain as much - Yay! And I had friends come be with me during my hypothermia which was a great boost.
I leave on Sunday for Utah - and then home to Cameron soon after that. I can't wait to catch up with all of you by phone and email once I'm home!
Thank you again for praying for me and helping me be here. I feel much better and I'm greatly encouraged. Love and blessings, Sherry

Blueberry Pancakes!
This morning I was treated with blueberry pancakes that tasted scrumptious! Who would think that pancakes that are gluten free, no sugar, and no cow's milk could taste like that! A strawberry sauce topped it off with a beautiful white syrup that I think was made from coconut milk. On the side was a nut butter for great protein. All the meals here are perfectly balanced in every way. All the right nutrients, the veggies, the healthy fats your body needs, the protein - and presented beautifully. I had two helpings!
Yesterday I did a heat therapy where you heat the body up - promoting good health and helping to fight bad cells and stuff like that. It was pretty challenging as I'm not so good at being hot - but one of the nurses was with me non-stop, looking after me and making sure I had everything I needed. I feel so safe and cared for. And each medical staff member is highly trained in their field - meaning I get the best every time.
Perhaps the best part of the day yesterday was a wonderful massage. I believe it was called Parafango. A hot pack was carefully placed on my back to warm the muscles. Then the therapist used essential oils to deeply massage my neck and shoulders. I was carrying a lot of tension in those muscles. Magdalena was exceptional. She knew just how to work out the tight spots and bring relief. Afterwards I felt like jelly! So loose and relaxed. Fitting in the massage that day was thanks to the work of my coordinator, Ivan, and several other people who made sure my schedule was rearranged. It's hard for me to even say how wonderful it was. To have people want to take care of you and bless you is a gift.
Thank you to everyone who has posted comments! I love them! They are ministering to my heart and my spirit. I look forward to visiting with each of you when I can actually call and talk. Perhaps sometime later in April.
Oh - and for those of you wondering about Elizabeth - she has arrived safely from Italy! Yay! I can hardly wait to get home to see her and get a bunch of hugs.
Thank you again for loving me.
